2005 Conference: Social Entrepreneurship/Social Enterprise: Theory; Practical Application; and Impact.

Once again, we returned to the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel, New Castle, NH for our annual conference. This year’s topic was “Social Entrepreneurship/Social Enterprise: Theory; Practical Application; and Impact.”

The presenters - three of the world’s foremost leaders in this emerging field – were:
 
Beth Anderson, Managing Director, CASE (Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship)Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, North Carolina.

Alex Nicholls, University Lecturer in Social Entrepreneurship, Said Business School, Oxford University, Oxford, England.

Jane Wei-Skillern, Assistant Professor of Business Administration in the General Management and Social Enterprise Group at the Harvard Business School, Cambridge, MA.

Beth, Alex, and Jane shared current findings and guided attendees through interactive exercises regarding:  “The History of Social Entrepreneurship/Social Enterprise;” “Social Entrepreneurship: Modeling High Performance Social Ventures;” and “The Value of Networks (Community, Corporate, Inter and Intra-Organizational Resources) in Successful Social Enterprise.”
